Fundamental Techniques in Cell Culture (National workshop)

Shayan: On November 5th, the Medical Analysis Department at Tishk International University held a workshop in collaboration with the Medical Research Center at Hawler Medical University entitled “Fundamental Techniques in Cell Culture.” The President, Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu Orabi, Dean of the College of Health Sciences at HMU, and Prof. Dr. Hamdia Mirkhan Ahmed, General Director of the Medical Research Center at HMU Assist, attended the workshop. Prof. Dr. Aza B. Taha, deans of faculties, heads of departments, academic lecturers, and other distinguished guests from Hawler Medical University.
The speakers for the workshop were Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Chawsheen, an Assistant professor at the Medical Research Centre at Hawler Medical University, Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Iraq, and Dr. Peshraw Salih Hamadamin, a University Lecturer at Salahaddin University and a Part-time staff at Tishk International University, Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Iraq. The workshop focused on the importance of cell culture and its various applications.
The speakers explained the techniques for culturing cells and their significance in research. Cell culture techniques are an essential tool for researchers in various fields because they provide a controlled environment to study the behavior of cells and their responses to different stimuli. The cells commonly used for culturing are mammalian cells, including human and animal cells. These cells are used to study different diseases, test new drugs, and therapeutic development.
Overall, this workshop provided an opportunity for academics in the medical field to learn more about the fundamental techniques involved in cell culture.
